Maydena Bike Park

Nestled in the heart of Tasmania's Derwent Valley, Maydena Bike Park stands as a testament to the adventurous spirit of mountain biking. This park, which began its journey in 2008 from the visionary mind of Simon French, has evolved into Australia's largest gravity-focused mountain bike park. Opening its trails to the public in January 2018, it marked the culmination of years of meticulous planning and passionate effort. The park initially featured 35km of trails, but it has since expanded phenomenally, now boasting over 100km of diverse and challenging trails. This rapid growth was fueled by both private investment and state government support, reflecting the community's commitment to creating a world-class biking destination.

The terrain of Maydena is a mountain biker's dream. It offers steep and rugged landscapes that have been skillfully transformed into trails that cater to all levels of riders, from beginners to elite professionals. The park's unique topography allows for a wide range of trails, including adrenaline-inducing downhill tracks, technical enduro trails, and even family-friendly routes. The addition of uplift services and drop-off locations has made the park more accessible, ensuring that riders can spend more time enjoying the trails and less time climbing uphill.

Beyond the trails, Maydena Bike Park is a hub of mountain biking culture. It hosts a variety of events and festivals, bringing together biking enthusiasts from around the world. The park's facilities, including a skills park and dirt jumps, provide a comprehensive experience, allowing riders to hone their skills and push their limits. The park's commitment to hosting national and global events, like the Red Bull Hardline, showcases its status as a premier destination in the mountain biking world.

In essence, Maydena Bike Park is not just a collection of trails; it's a vibrant community and a beacon for mountain biking enthusiasts. Its breathtaking landscapes, challenging trails, and dynamic atmosphere make it the perfect venue for an event as prestigious as the Red Bull Hardline. As we look forward to this exhilarating event, Maydena stands ready to offer an unforgettable experience to riders and spectators alike.
